The Destroyit 2270 strip cut shredder knows that paper isn’t the only thing that needs to be shredded. The 2270 model conveniently has two separate feed openings; one for paper and one for CD’s and DVD’s. With an integrated collection tray in the shred bin, the 5 gallon paper section is separate from the ¾ gallon plastic section. It’s easy to see when the container needs to be emptied, thanks to the shred bin window which shows how full the shredder is. Taking up to 10 to 12 sheets at a time at 12 feet per minute, the 2270’s hardened steel cutting shafts easily take paper clips, staples and credit cards. The cutting head is backed by MBM’s legendary lifetime cutting head warranty. The 2270 has automatic start and stop detected by a photo sensor, so the shredder will never run when it’s not in use. On top of the shredder is an easily located control switch that allows you to put the machine in standby, stop (off) or reverse. A transparent safety shield that covers the feed opening is in place to prevent anything but paper from going into the throat. The power automatically cuts off when the shred bin is removed from the cabinet, which is manufactured out of high quality wood panels. The Destroyit 2270 has a quiet yet powerful single phase motor, whose gears are neatly inside a dust-proof enclosure, with double protection against overheating.
