The 4014/2 SMC also has all of the features that one comes to expect from Destroyit. The “SPS” (Safety Protection System) has an electronically controlled safety shield that protects the feed opening. Should the shield be opened, the shredder automatically shuts off to prevent injury. In the event of an emergency, the oversized “Easy Switch” button simply needs to be pressed in order to reverse or completely shut off the feed. It also features three icons indicating paper jam, door open or full bag. The automatic start and stop is detected by photo cell and stops the shredder if the bag is full or the door is open. The “ECC” (Electronic Capacity Control) indicates how hard the shredder is working to handle the amount of paper going in and can be used to avoid paper jams. The cabinet is made of high quality wood and set on casters for easy access. The Destroyit 4014/2 SMC even has an energy saving feature that turns off the machine after an hour of inactivity.
